Right that's it!

My bloody internet connection/router/something along the line keeps blocking off access to certain websites.  Including but not exclusively the BlogSpirit site.  This is usually remedied by restarting my router but this is irritating in itself.  Now it's reached new levels to the extent that I can get through to Blogspirit and type a new post but then it doesn't let me post it; rather it gives me a "Site not found" page that means I've just lost my post and have to start again.

I've lost 3 posts in this way in the last week.  So bollocks to it.  I'm stopping using this site starting very soon.

Have fun.

Search terms

I've just noticed that BlogSpirit have just started adding to the stats I can get re traffic the search terms that led people here.  Rod has added similar to his site so I'll do the same here.  Look to the right to see the latest.

Have fun.

[edit 13/6/06]  I've just had a look at PhysioMonkey's stats and the search terms there are all pretty straightforward things like "shoulder injury", "warm-ups" and so on.  However there are a couple of good ones notably "circus muscles" and, my favourite, "injured puppy".

Traffic

Wow I seem to have got suddenly very popular!

My traffic stats for May include 45Mb on the 3rd and 46Mb on the 27th.  Anyone any idea why?

Still I'm not complaining.

Have fun.

Another heads-up

Since Luke B bigged this site up on rec.juggling (possibly before reading some of it) my traffic has increased a little.  Cheers for that Luke.

Anyways there's been another mention; this time on The Jog.  There's a post re juggling blogs on there and I've got 2 of 'em mentioned.  Yay!  Cheers for the mention guys.

There's some interesting preamble too.  I particlarly like:

These juggling blogs highlight both ends of the spectrum - from the elite performers to your average hobbyist - and a few weird people in between.

Since I'm mentioned at number 3 (and 3.5) I'm going to assume I'm one of the "weird people".  He's also got 2 number 4's, and some of the links are not what they say they are (sorry Andrew).

I hope the author has a read of this post because I can't post a reply there without subscribing to Blogger.  Anyways you forgot Bear-Blog!  How could you?  She writes well!

The other point that sprang to mind is that this isn't really a juggling blog.  I just happen to juggle a bit so it gets mentioned.  I have opinions so they get aired.  But there's not even a juggling "category" to easily search for the bits that you're interested in.  This wasn't deliberate but is now.  I want people to actually read the thing rather than just pick the bits that may seem relevant.  Do I sound too self-important here?  Hope not.

Anyways thanks again Andrew.

Have fun.

PS Oh and the title of this blog does make sense if you know me well enough.  "Not a juggler of monkeys" indeed!

It worked!

I doubt you'll remember but at the end of June I joined a community on BlogSpirit and added 2 other new ones to their list.  At the time I wondered if it would increase "footfall".  I've just been through my stats and the bandwidth before this point was about 40MB/month and since then I've averaged over 100Mb/month.

Yay! It worked!

Have fun.

PS More photos on my photos page.  Click on the "My Photos" link to have a look.

Communities

I've just been playing with Blogspirit and decided that I should join a coupl'o blog communities. There wasn't one for juggling so I created that one and there wasn't one for UK blogs so I made that too. I wonder if this will increase "footfall" (as they say in retail)?

Have fun.

More about me

Well I've still only had 2 "About Me" comments so I assume I'm not going to get any more.

If you feel suitably guilty then feel free to get yours in sharpish.

Have fun.

Hello Cruel World

I didn't fall over and there was no blood. Nor did I have a boyfriend available to give me ice. Having said that ice was not needed.

Why the hell am I doing this? I was reading my friend Clurby's blog and thought, Ooh that's an idea! Why not?
Well it's taken me a goodly while to get round to it and now I can't think of a damned thing to write. Now all of our mutual friends will think I'm copying (which of course I am). I'm but a sheep following her shepherdessness.

The only exciting thing that's happened recently was the return of Kpacu from her trip home this month.
But even this knowledge is of supreme irrelevence to all but me and her.

Blogs really are the ultimate in vanity publishing aren't they? To those outside the social circle who will read this there remains no interest in what I do just as I hold no truck with them arsing on about what they've got up to in their own lives. Still at least it's an awful lot cheaper than real publishing. But then who am I kidding, no one outside my social circle will ever read this. There are millions of blogs so what can I do to make this one unique?

The obvious solution is of course not to bother and assume that the only folk who care about me will be the only ones to read therefore that is what I shall do. How long are some of these sentences?

One thought is that I am appalling at bothering to write emails and those who are most affected by this tendency will be able to keep track of the mundanity of my frivolous musings and my pointlessly flowery vocabulary.

So be prepared: be thrilled: I will be back and no doubt I'll be ranting like a sock drawer!
Have fun.
